Tell us a little about your business/organization.

 In May of 2016 being burnt out after being involved with two network marketing businesses, I attended a workshop in May 2016 which I was gifted the ticket by a networking friend, on “How to get your Next Customer.” I was hoping to get some inspiration since my Melaleuca business was dying. A conversation with the presenter left me with words of inspiration. To be a successful entrepreneur, you need two things: a product to sell and passion for the product. I was already making cards for my friends, so my husband Paul planted the seed, he said honey why don’t you start your own greeting card business, you know you love making cards.  But all through the weekend I tried to figure out what I needed to do to begin the process of starting my own business. Well, there is one thing I know for sure, when God plants a seed, He will send someone to water that seed.

The next week I attended a networking event, and a fellow business owner Vicki Lam greets me always the same way.  How are you, how’s your husband and how’s your business?  I explained to her that my husband suggested that I start my own greeting card business, and I don’t know the first thing about how to accomplish that.  Vicki said meet me for coffee.  And I met with Vicki 3 times and launched Special Touch Card Creations, Your One-Of-A-Kind Greeting in August 2016. My greeting card business is like no other. Rather than going into a store and spending 20-30 minutes reading cards, I can personalize and customize any greeting card.  I take the words from the customers’ heart and turn them into a one-of-a-kind sentiment that will touch the heart of their receiver.

 I also design weddings, birthday invitations, anything with paper. Party favors are included in my inventory.

Tell us about your role in the business/organization.

I’m a solopreneur who loves seeing the look on my customers’ face when they pick up their card order and see the design up close.  Whether it’s 1 card or 300 cards I can get the job done!

Tell us something that makes your business/organization unique. 

Well, the cards in the store today are very pretty, but I ask my prospective customer several questions, what is the intended’s favorite color, image that they like and some words to describe the individual.  I will come up with an image and put their words all together for their sentiment.  I also take a picture of the outside image and sentiment for my customers approval; I e-mail it to them or text a picture of the design.  Nothing is finalized without my customers’ approval so my greeting cards can be purchased around the globe.

What do you see for the future of your business/organization?

If there are businesses, my business will thrive. Most businesses order thank you cards for their clients and customers to thank them for doing business with them.  Also with birthdays, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, and Father’s Day the future of my business looks very bright.

How has the Chamber helped your business/organization grow?

By making the membership cost affordable, having free networking events, promoting small businesses and promoting their Ambassadors by giving them a spotlight in the Chamber Connection.

What is your best advice to other businesses/organizations?

People do business with whom they know, get to know the members of this wonderful Chamber of Commerce and your business will grow by leaps and bounds.
